Editor of the Reformer:

I was the person whose car was flipped onto Western Avenue recently. First off, let me begin by saying I’m totally fine.

I just wanted to write to the Reformer to say how thankful I am to all of the people that helped out yesterday. The first responders were incredibly quick to the scene and were so efficient and friendly. Additionally, there were a couple of women who came over to comfort me and give me a cell phone, and they stayed there until I left. I am very grateful to them for being there during the initial shock. Lastly, I’d like to say a big thank you to the man that helped pull me out of the car. I didn’t get his name and unfortunately wasn’t able to really speak with him, but I hope that he gets to read this.

Anyway, I was hoping you might be able to publish this just to let everyone know how grateful I am.

Thanks so much,

Yasmin Tayeby,

Thank you for letting me use this page to thank everyone who participated in any of the activities sponsored by the Alumni Association on the weekend of June 20th. BHS/BUHS Alumni Association, although low on both active board members and financial contributions, continues to function for all graduates of our great high school. Our goal is to involve as many alumni as possible in one way or another. We depend on you to pay your dues ($5) so that we can continue, at the very least, to be a clearing house for alumni thoughts and comments.

Our Facebook page is always available to you and we welcome your ideas.

The Association gave out 7 scholarships on Thursday and Friday to qualified graduating seniors. On Saturday, we participated in a golf tournament as well as sponsored a dance at the VFW that evening. We got to see lots of old friends and hopefully, made a few new ones.

Many class parties were held, including the great weekend long extravaganza organized by the 50 year class, 1964. Recognition should be given to those brave souls who put themselves out there to provide a gathering place for their class. Not an easy task but one that is appreciated.

Next year, graduation will be held on Friday, June 19th, 2015. Mark the weekend off on your calendar. Plans are already being made. Check our Facebook page for updates or give me a call at 254-3679.

The Vernon Seniors express their thanks and gratitude to all those who participated in anyway in their dinner and dessert food sale held June 20. I was a special event to earn money for their activities. It was very successful. Thank you. We look forward to making it an annual event.

Also, we thank all those who participated in our 50/50 raffle. The winner George Lagro, was pulled after a day full of events at the town picnic. The seniors express a special thanks to the Recreation Department for their fine consideration they gave the seniors during the day. This was also a successful fundraising event for our activities fund.

We want you all to look forward to the APPLE in the fall.

Thank you to all.

We would like to say "Thank You" to all of our friends, neighbors, relatives and the staff and friends from the Hinsdale Senior Meals for all the cards, phone calls, just stopping in and flowers, gifts that help us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

We were pleasantly surprised to receive a card from the Chief of the Portland, Maine, Fire Department, "Jerry" LaMoria, who was raised in the West River Valley, but as a young man spent a lot of time at our fire station here in Brattleboro.

Again, so many thanks to everyone.
