Editor of the Reformer:
Voting in the general election has started in Vermont. As we announced, election day voting will be at the VFW on Putney road. But there is no need to wait until Nov. 8. Early voting began on Sept. 23 and extends the opportunity for voters. Early or absentee voting is easy and fast. You can visit the Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours and vote. If that does not work for you, call the Town Clerk's Office, 251-8157, and ask to have an absentee ballot mailed to you. You can then do the voting at home and either mail the ballot back to the Town Clerk of drop the ballot off at the office. We urge every voter to consider early voting if there is concern about driving to the VFW.
Of course, all voters are eligible to come in person to cast their ballots on Nov. 8 at the VFW which is located at 40 Black Mountain Road. There is more adjacent parking and less congestion than at Brattleboro Union High School or the Municipal Building and the location has easy entry and exit. Election Day voting is between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
