BELLOWS FALLS -- Members of the Bellows Falls Woman’s Club, which is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the United Church of Bellows Falls, School Street, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Speaker for the meeting will be Kate O’Connor, author of "Do the Impossible," which tells of her experiences while working on the 2004 presidential campaign of Howard Dean. Books will be available and O’Connor will sign them. The public is invited to the meeting. Non-members should contact Village Square Booksellers if they plan to attend so that enough copies of the book will be available.
The club members recently held a successful food and bake sale in conjunction with the Walpole Library’s book sale. In addition, club is raffling a handmade, handkerchief and lace quilt, fashioned by Barbara Comtois. The quilt is sized to fit the top of a twin bed. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and are available from club members. The winner’s name will be drawn on Dec. 11. Proceeds benefit the community organizations and agencies which the BF Woman’s Club supports as well as its scholarship fund and other opportunities for area youth.
Anyone interested in joining the Woman’s Club and helping with its volunteer efforts and community support should contact Barbara Comtois at 802-344-0025.
