BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Area Home & Health Show is opening its doors for the fourth consecutive year, providing homeowners a chance to sample some of the region’s finest businesses this spring.

The show will feature roughly 50 booths and is open Saturday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Sunday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nelson Withington Rink at Living Memorial Park.

While admission is free, organizers are suggesting a $3 donation at the door to go toward Project Feed the Thousands and Newspapers in Education, a program promoting newspaper reading in schools.

More than 2,000 visitors attended the event last year.

"We are pleased to offer this great opportunity for local businesses to promote their products and expand their customer base," said Josh Unruh, interactive sales manager for southern Vermont properties with New England Newspapers, Inc.

"It is really a great place to visit some of the best home improvement and health and fitness vendors the greater Brattleboro region has to offer this spring," Unruh said. "We are particularly happy to have the Brattleboro Area Farmers’ Market join us for this year’s show."

The annual exposition is sponsored by the Reformer and The Original Vermont Observer, in cooperation with WTSA Radio, the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce and Integrated Solar Applications.

Jerry Goldberg, executive director of the Chamber, said the event is a win-win for residents weary of staying idle all winter and looking to upgrade their residences and get back into shape after putting on a few pounds over the holidays.

"It comes in spring when we know people are starting to look [toward improving their homes and bodies] and I think it’s important for us to put our best faces forward," he said.

On Saturday, WTSA will broadcast live from the skating rink during the show and the Vermont-based Inflatable Fun will provide a 40-foot obstacle course for children. Food services will be provided by Vermont Country Deli and Curtis’ BBQ of Putney and Chester.

While there are still booths available, space is limited. Businesses interested in participating in the show may contact Unruh at 802-254-2311, ext. 257.
