BELLOWS FALLS -- On June 9, at approximately 11:40 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Pine Street in the village.
The incident involved three people, but upon arrival, only two passengers were on scene. According to police, the driver, who was believed to have been injured, left the scene on foot.
The operator, later identified as Chelsea Milko, 21, of Westminster, was located away from the scene and taken for treatment to Springfield Hospital, where she was processed for driving under the influence and was cited to appear in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.
The two occupants were also transported to Springfield Hospital. One was treated and released and one is still in the hospital, according to police. Police are not releasing the names of the two passengers at this time.
Late last year, Milko was arrested, suspected of stealing beer from Cumberland Farms in Bellows Falls.
On Nov. 16, Bellows Falls Police responded to the store for a reported theft after a group of individuals had stolen at least three 18-packs of Budweiser.
According to Officer Todd Mayer, from the surveillance video Milko can been seen aiding two young males -- later identified as Raymond Monty III, 22, and Cody Ritchie, 21 -- hide one of the boxes of beer from an on-floor display inside Ritchie’s winter jacket.
At about 10:24 p.m., Milko, Monty and Ritchie can be seen entering the store’s bathroom, eventually leaving without the cardboard box container, according to court documents.
A store clerk stated they found two empty boxes folded up along with one partially full box, hidden behind the sink in the bathroom.
And on Dec. 13, Windham County Sheriff Sgt. George Badgley said he pulled Milko’s vehicle over as she was allegedly traveling 59 mph in a 35 mph zone.
A computer check revealed Milko was under criminal suspension for having five prior convictions of operating a vehicle with a suspended license, all of which occurred in 2011.
