Font ResizeBRATTLEBORO -- An 18-year-old man is being held on $10,000 bail after allegedly attacking and threatening his two Health Care and Rehabilitation Services case workers in his home on Wednesday.
Jeffrey Ford, of Guilford, is facing three assault charges and one count of felony unlawful mischief after police say he attacked his HCRS caregivers with a steak knife and shards of glass from a window he had smashed. According to a police report, Ford slashed all four tires of one of the victim’s Jeep during the altercation and damaged several items inside the residence on Bonnyvale Road.
Ford is being charged with two counts of first degree domestic assault, one count of aggravated assault and one count of felony unlawful mischief. He appeared in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on Thursday.
Members of the Vermont State Police in Brattleboro responded to the residence at approximately 11:06 a.m. on a report that Ford was attacking and threatening to murder his live-in case workers. Investigation revealed that Ford also punched one of his caregivers in her face and pulled her hair.
Ford was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro barracks. He was held for lack of $10,000 bail and transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility.
Trooper Michael Studin, who responded to the scene, was not available for comment.
