-- William Durand, 31, of Rockingham, was cited on Monday, June 25, for domestic assault and interference with access to emergency services.
Vermont State Police responded to a call from the Springfield Police Department about a verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female on Missing Link Road.
Troopers met with the female on the road near the residence. She said Durand, her husband, had assaulted her and took the phone and threw it when she told him she was calling the police. According to police reports, the female displayed behavior indicative of an assault victim and showed evidence of minor injuries.
A verbally-hostile Durand would not describe his side of the story and became increasingly agitated at the troopers. He was taken to the Rockingham barracks, where he was ordered held at the Southern State Correctional Facility on $1,500 bail. He was to appear in court at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25.

-- On Sunday, June 24, Vermont State Police from the Brattleboro Barracks were notified of a burglary complaint on Penny Avenue.
According to police, someone forced entry into the residence sometime between Memorial Day (Monday, May 28) and the time the report was called in.
It is unknown what, if anything, was taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Trooper Genevra Cushman at 802-254-2382.

-- A Claremont, N.H., man
According to police reports, Vermont State Trooper Matthew Steeves stopped to check on a parked vehicle at mile-marker 30 on Interstate 91. Steeves said he made contact with the operator, Mark Trujillo, who was sleeping in the vehicle.
Trujillo, 38, said the car was out of gas. But Steeves detected a strong odor of intoxicants and asked Trujillo to perform sobriety exercises. Trujillo was arrested and transported to the Rockingham barracks, where he was processed.
A judge ordered Trujillo to be held at the Southern State Correctional Facility until his blood-alcohol content registered at .04 percent.
Trujillo is scheduled to appear in court on July 2 to answer to his newest DUI charge.
-- The VSP investigated on Monday, June 25, the theft of a catalytic converter from a box truck owned by Southeastern Vermont Community Action.
According to police, the building was monitored by surveillance cameras and shows that at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, a person wearing shorts and a hooded sweatshirt ran across the parking lot in which the SEVCA trucks are parked. Roughly five minutes later, the subject left carrying the catalytic converter from one of the trucks.
It is believed the person used a small style pipecutter, which does cause any noise. Stolen converters are typically sold to metal scrap yards.
There have been numerous thefts of catalytic converters in the area and anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Paul Dean at the Rockingham barracks at 802-875-2112.
Windsor-Hartland townline
-- Peter Conrad, 27, of Claremont, N.H., faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, as well as a ticket for changing lanes in an unsafe manner.
VSP troopers from the Rockingham barracks responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the southbound lane of Interstate 91 at approximately 4:32 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27.
Investigation revealed that Conrad had run a 2008 Suzuki Forenza off the road with the 2000 Volkswagen Jetta he was driving. According to police, the driver of the Forenza then lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway, while Conrad continued on.
Witnesses on scene were able to provide aid to the Forenza’s driver while another managed to get the license plate number of the Jetta. The car was found with the help of the Claremont Police Department.
The driver of the Forenza was sent to Mount Ascutney Hospital with a minor back injury. Hartland Fire & Rescue and Golden Cross Ambulance assisted.
