BRATTLEBORO
Bridge Street
On Monday, July 9, beginning at 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., one lane of Bridge Street will be opened to alternating traffic.
This upgrade is a part of a larger project upgrading rail crossing in the State of Vermont. The new rails will enable faster train speeds as well as increase freight loads.
Amtrak will be running its normal schedule on Monday, but there will be no parking near the station.
People should expect delays when traveling in the construction area and may wish to seek alternative routes. Riders of the Beeline Bus should expect delays, also.
For more information, call the Town Manager's Office at 802-251-8100.
Maple Street
Beck and Bellucci will be placing concrete beams for the new southbound Interstate-91 bridge over Maple Street during the week of July 9. Maple Street will be closed Tuesday, July 10, and Wednesday, July 11, from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.
An attempt will be made to minimize the duration of the closures. The projected schedule will be:
-- Tuesday: Road closed late morning through the afternoon.
-- Wednesday: Possible closure in the morning.
Pedestrians will be allowed to pass at times, but can expect delays when it is not safe. For questions on this or other projects, call Brattleboro Public Works Dept. at 802-254-4255.
