BRATTLEBORO -- The United Way of Windham County is still seeking volunteers for its annual Day of Caring, scheduled for Sept. 1., from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers will be assigned tasks to help spruce up non-profits and other community organizations throughout the county. No specific skills are required and all equipment and supplies are provided by the organizations. Day of Caring work projects will be done at Brigid’s Kitchen, the Windham County Humane Society, Windham Child Care Association, The Gathering Place, Green Mountain Camp for Girls, and many other community organizations.
Volunteers meet at the American Legion Post 5, 32 Linden St., Brattleboro (near the Municipal Center) for a hot breakfast and work assignments.
Volunteers will receive a "Live United" t-shirt, backpack, water bottle and snacks.
Volunteers must provide their own transportation.
