Brattleboro

-- On Aug. 30, at approximately 4 p.m., Jenny Amana, 35, of Dummerston, was stopped by Brattleboro police on Main Street. She was cited for operating a vehicle after her license was suspended and ordered to appear in court on Oct. 9.

-- On Aug. 31, at approximately 8 a.m., Trevor Golding, 36, of Brattleboro, was cited with criminal contempt for having consumed alcoholic beverage in violation of his court ordered conditions of release. He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 11.

-- On Aug. 31, at approximately 9 a.m., Brattleboro police responded to Western Avenue to a report of a threat made by Spencer Garrity, 47, of Brattleboro.

Garrity was cited for disorderly conduct for making a vulgar comment and a threat towards a female. He was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 9.

-- On Aug. 31, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Putney Road near Vermont Avenue to the report of an intoxicated man driving his car out of the Staple Plaza.

Police stopped Gene Capen, 67, of Brattleboro, on Putney Road and arrested him for driving under the influence. He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 18.

Marlboro

-- On Aug. 30, at approximately 5 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Route 9 for the report of a single-vehicle accident. Following an investigation, troopers learned Peter Bazin Jr., 38, of Westminster, was driving a dump truck

with an attached gravel sifter trailer in the area of Hamilton Road when the pintle hook failed, resulting in the trailer detaching from the truck.

When the trailer’s tongue hit the pavement, the safety chains broke and the trailer rolled off the south side of the roadway and over a metal guardrail.

No injuries resulted though Route 9 was closed to a single lane of travel for nearly four hours while the trailer was removed from the scene.

Londonderry

-- On Aug. 30, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Windhall Hollow Road, just west of Livermore Mills Road, to the report of a single-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, troopers learned that Perez Roldan, 38, of Eleva Wisc., was traveling west when he lost control of his vehicle after an axle broke on the utility trailer he was towing.

The vehicle went off the right side of the road and sideswiped a utility pole. No injuries were sustained in the accident. The Winhall Police Department assisted.

Searsburg

-- On Aug. 30 at approximately 3 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Route 8 for the report of a motor-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, troopers learned Philip Krzeminski, 41, of Marlboro, crested a hill and saw a moose near the northbound side of the road.

Krzeminski veered left to avoid hitting the moose, which caused his vehicle to fishtail, leaving the road and coming to rest facing south on an embankment.

Krzeminski’s vehicle was damaged on the undercarriage and received scrapes down both sides. He was not injured.

Wardsboro

-- On Aug. 30, at approximately 5 p.m., the Vermont State Police began an investigation into a report of disorderly conduct on Scandia Village Road. According to the victim, the windshield of his vehicle was smashed with a baseball bat at about 11:30 a.m. by Anthony J. Smith, 25, while two children were inside the vehicle. The children were not injured in the incident.

Smith was cited for disorderly conduct and unlawful mischief and cited to appear in court on Oct. 9.

Westminster

-- On Sept. 1, at approximately 11:20 a.m., the Vermont State Police stopped a vehicle being driving by Carl Woodard, 36, of Athens. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license and also issued a ticket for altering his inspection sticker. He was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 2.

Whitingham

-- On Aug. 31, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Vermont State Police received a report of a bonfire and cars racing up and down Lone Pine Road. The Whitingham Fire Department extinguished the bonfire and troopers located three abandoned trucks and one car along with a number of empty beer cans.

Three of the four vehicles were towed from the scene. The operator of one of the vehicles, John Elting, 23, of Whitingham, responded to the scene and was cited for operating a vehicle on a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 23.
