DUMMERSTON -- A teenager escaped serious injury following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 just before 7 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the State Police, a 17-year-old from Dummerston was traveling northbound in a Pontiac G-6. She was driving "too fast for the road conditions" when the vehicle began to hydroplane. She lost control and the car rolled, "coming to rest upside down in the center median."

There was minor confusion as emergency crews were called to the scene, as it was initially reported to have happened in Putney.

The driver, as well as two young children in the car, were all transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police report they were all wearing their seatbelts.

Police issued a traffic ticket for "traveling too fast for the road conditions," and stated that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

In addition to the Vermont State Police, emergency responders from the Putney Fire Department and Rescue, Inc. assisted at the scene.
