Brattleboro

-- A 30-year-old Jamaica man was arrested on Sept. 14, for driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and driving with a 1-year-old child un-restrained in the car.

Jonathan Matyas was taken into custody after police received a report of an intoxicated driver traveling north along I-91. It was also reported that a young child was sitting on a woman’s lap in the front seat instead of being properly secured.

When police stopped Matyas’ car, a sample of his breath showed his blood alcohol content at .095.

He was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date to answer the charges.

-- Lisa M. Scott, 36, of Brattleboro, was arrested for driving with a criminally suspend license on Sept. 10, after police stopped her vehicle along Putney Road.

Scott was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on Oct. 23, to answer the charge.

Grafton

-- Members of the Vermont State Police are investigating the theft of a chain saw from a Guilford Town truck.

According to Trooper Bryson Lunderville, the Husqvarna chain saw was stolen from a town work truck sometime on Sept. 10.

Londonderry

-- Police arrested a juvenile on Sept. 14, after the child allegedly stole several credit cards and personal

checks and used them to purchase various items.

Vermont State Police Trooper Bryson Lunderville stated the juvenile was cited to appear in Windham County Family Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Putney

-- On Sept. 12, members of the Windham County Sheriff’s Department cited three Landmark College students for possession of marijuana.

According to police, Sarah Gilbert, 19, Thomas Hegeman, 20, and Spencer Samson, 19, were all cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date to answer the charges.

Newfane

-- Police are investigating a burglary of a home along Newfane Hill Road that occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 10:20 p.m., on Sept. 12.

The victim told Vermont State Police Trooper Travis Valcourt that someone had removed several items from her home.

Saxtons River

-- Members of the Vermont State Police are investigating a theft after a woman reported that someone broke into her parked car along Saxtons River Road and stole roughly $100 in cash.
