Athens

-- State police are investigating a burglary on Brookline Road. Sometime between Sept. 8 or 9 and Sept. 20, someone forcibly entered a locked home and took lawn-maintenance items, gas cans, DVDs, medication and household items.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police Rockingham barracks at 802-875-2112.

Brattleboro

-- On. Sept. 25, Brattleboro police responded to Marlboro Road for a report of a citizen dispute. They arrested Anthony M. Amaru, 26, of Brattleboro, for domestic assault.

He was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division to answer the charge.

-- Perle Nichols, 40, of Brattleboro, was arrested for driving while criminally suspended Sept. 23 on Putney Road.

He was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division to answer the charge.

-- A male juvenile was arrested following a Sept. 17 incident at Brattleboro Union High School. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated by school personnel.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division to answer the charge of simple assault.

-- Susan Baylas Gibbons, 50, of Brattleboro, was cited and released for retail theft Sept. 12 at Malisun, 44 Harmony Place.

She was cited to appear Nov. 12 in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division to answer the charge.

Dummerston

State police responded on Sept. 24 to a three-vehicle crash on Route 30 in front of JB Auto in Dummerston.

Police said Todd C. Mcelroy, 42, of West Dover, was traveling south on Route 30 when he crossed the center line and struck two other vehicles.

There were no reported injuries. Mcelroy was cited for driving under the influence and released; he is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division Oct. 9 to answer the charge.

Guilford

-- A Whitingham resident reported that he lost a hunting rifle somewhere between River Road in Guilford and Fowler Hill Road in Whitingham. He had been bear hunting in Guilford Sept. 23 and had placed the Ruger rifle on a dog box in the bed of his pickup, then forgot it and drove home.

Anyone with information is asked to call the state police Brattleboro barracks at 802-254-2382. If the gun is found, it can be taken to the barracks in West Brattleboro.

Newfane

-- Tracie L. Adrian, 42, of Newfane, was arrested for driving under the influence after a Sept. 24 single-car crash on South Wardsboro Road. The Windham County Sheriff’s Department reported Adrian’s blood-alcohol content to be 0.129 percent.

She was cited to appear Oct. 9 in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division to answer the charge.

Rockingham

-- State police investigated a Sept. 22 complaint about attempted fraud on Craig’s List. When the complainant contacted an alleged owner of an apartment advertised for rent in Quechee, VT, the owner sent "a questionnaire that would reveal personal information as well as asking how much could be paid up front," police said.

But the actual owners of the apartment subsequently said they had not placed the ad. The incident is "a reminder not to release any personal information to anyone," police said.
