ROCKINGHAM -- The Rockingham Town Hall and four local churches will be ringing their bells 26 times in unison today to remember the people killed at Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School last week.

Bellows Falls Village Trustee Colin James said the bell-ringing is set for 9:30 a.m. today. He said Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy requested communities across the country take part in the event.

The churches involved will be Immanuel Episcopal Church, the United Church of Bellows Falls, the First Baptist Church and St. Charles Catholic Church.

James said after the bells toll 26 times, he will take a wreath (donated by Halladay's) and lay it at Hetty Green Park.
