WHITINGHAM -- Article 6 was amended to "raise and appropriate $1,171,074 for the maintenance and repair of Town Highways for fiscal year July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2014. $942,439 to be raised in taxes, offset by $119,386 in anticipated revenues and $109,249 appropriated from prior year's fund balance."

The money will be used for the paving of town roads. Article 8, which asked voters for permission to borrow another $1,000,000 for paving the town's highways was defeated.

The School Budget articles passed. Article 2 was amended to raise and appropriate $681,319 for the general use of the town for fiscal year July 1, 2013 - June 30, 2014 with $472,261 to be raised in taxes, the balance to be offset by $161,022 in anticipated revenues, and $48,036 appropriated from prior year's fund balance.

Article 3 and 4 were passed; Article 5 was postponed indefinitely; Article 7 and 9 passed and Article 10 was postponed; and Article 11 was amended to "raise and appropriate $14,050 in support of an ambulance service."

Articles 12 to 24 all passed.

Leon L. Corse was elected Town Moderator. Almira L. Aekus was elected Town Clerk for three years as well as Town Treasurer for one year. She also secured the position as Collector of Taxes for one year.

years; and Susan Cooke Johnson was elected Town Agent for one year as well as Town Grand Juror.

Kimberly Hicks was elected Library Trustee for three years, as was Maryanne Johnson; Linda Brow was elected Cemetery Commissioner for years; Leon L. Corse was elected School District Moderator for one year; and Nicole Crafts was elected School Director for two years.
