Guilford

-- On March 2, the Vermont State Police responded at 7:45 a.m. to Sweet Pond Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash.

According to police, Nathan Knapp, 20, of Guilford, crashed into a snowbank at approximately 3:30 a.m. and slept in his car. Police discovered Kanpp had been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and was also in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and ordered to appear in court on March 26.

Putney

-- On March 3, Jared J. Leno, 19, no hometown given, was issued a warning for speeding and received a citation for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was ordered to appear in court on April 23.

Saxtons River

-- On March 3, the Vermont State Police responded to the report of a single-vehicle accident on Hartley Hill Road.

According to police, Michelle Axeloff, 38, of Saxtons River, was traveling north when she lost control of her vehicle. Due to the speed and the angle at which the vehicle left the road, it flipped on to the roof. Axeloff, who was wearing her seatbelt, was not injured in the crash. Police determined she was driving too fast for road conditions, which included snow, ice and slush.

South Londonderry

-- The Vermont State Police is investigating a possible burglary that occurred between March 2 and March 6 to a home on Main Street. Though no property appeared to be missing, the downstairs of

the home had been extensively vandalized.

Wardsboro

-- On March 3, the Vermont State Police responded to Route 100 for the report of a two-vehicle accident.

According to police, Kody Crosier, 19, of Wilmington, was traveling north when he crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle being driven by Judith Reinke, 53, of Pound Ridge, N.Y.

Reinke, who was wearing a seatbelt, was treated for minor injuries at Grace Cottage Hospital. Crosier, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Though the investigation is ongoing, alcohol was not suspected as a factor in the crash. Troopers were assisted by Wardsboro Fire/Rescue and Rescue Inc.
