WILMINGTON -- Town Manager Scott Murphy announced that the bids for insulation work in Memorial Hall have been awarded to LineSync Architecture.

LineSync had been one out of two reasonable bids that came in during the request for proposal bidding process, he said. The company is owned and run by Julie Lineberger and Joseph Cincotta. Their office is located in Wilmington.

"Julie had been involved with Memorial Hall for many years as a board member and volunteer," said Murphy. "So it was nice to award the bid to them."

At a pre-bid meeting, there had been about eight to 10 inquiries for the project.

LineSync began designing plans for the venture right away. The scope of the project includes replacing a furnace that no longer works. A new, energy efficient furnace must be installed, along with an air conditioning system.

"It's a very tight timeline; that's why they jumped to it," said Murphy, who called this "phase one" of what the RFP called for. He said the heating system will hopefully be up by November, when people begin using it.

"We need to get the heating source up and running by then," added Murphy.

He told the Reformer there would be no refusals for events at Memorial Hall through October. He said that a lot of the work will be designing, planning, bidding and awarding. That will take through September to complete.

The cost of the design work was not yet available.
