-- On June 26, Bellows Falls Police Department reported that Andrea Perkins, 19, of North Walpole, N.H., is to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division to face the charges of retail theft and minor possessing alcohol that occurred on Feb. 12 at Cumberland Farms.
-- On June 27, Vermont State Police received a report of a disabled vehicle on I-91 southbound. Police responded to the area and located an abandoned vehicle registered to Alison Hopkins, 34, of Norwich, at mile marker 19.4 south. Police detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle. A check of the area was unsuccessful in locating the operator. Later, the Brattleboro Police Department received a call from Hopkins advising that she had broken down on I-91 somewhere and had received a ride to Williams Street in Brattleboro. After speaking with Hopkins, it was determined that she was under the influence of alcohol and she was screened for DUI. She was subsequently arrested for the offense and transported to the Brattleboro State Police barracks for processing. Following processing, Hopkins was issued a citation and released to a family member.
-- On June 27, Vermont State Police observed Joshua Bartholomew, 32, of West Dover, operating a vehicle on Route 100. The trooper was able to determine that Bartholomew had a criminally suspended driver's license in the state of Vermont. Bartholomew was stopped and issued a citation for the offense. He was later processed at the Vermont State Police barracks in Brattleboro.
-- On June 27, Vermont State Police stopped a vehicle for numerous motor vehicle infractions. The male operator, Raymond W. White Jr., 28, of Londonderry, was found to be driving while under the influence and his license was also currently suspended. White also provided police with a false name. He was cited and released.
-- On June 26, Vermont State Police responded to a one vehicle crash located on I-91 northbound. Rockingham Fire and Rescue were dispatched to respond. The operator, Richard F. Mossey, Jr., 54, of Rutland, advised he was operating his vehicle in the left passing lane at a rate of speed to be 65 miles per hour. Mossey told police he was overtaking a vehicle that was in the right lane when he lost control of the vehicle. He further explained that the rear of the vehicle "kicked out" causing it to leave the roadway on the left side into the ledges located in the median.
Investigation revealed both of the tires on the rear of Mossey's vehicle, a white 1996 Chevy Camaro, had very little tread on them. Mossey escaped the crash without injury while the vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed by J and M Auto of Bellows Falls. Mossey will be issued a citation for condition of vehicle.
-- On June 27, Jenifer L. Cook, 26, of Westminster, was charged with driving with a criminally suspended license. She was stopped by the Windham County Sheriff's Department on Back Westminster Road. Cook was cited and released on conditions to appear at the Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on Aug. 6.
