No injuries in
I-91 crash

BRATTLEBORO -- There were no reported injuries following a two-vehicle crash near the Exit 3 southbound on-ramp of Interstate 91 Monday.

According to Vermont State Trooper Jeffrey Trudeau, police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. He learned that Regina M. Green, 56, of Wilmington, was traveling south in the left lane when Joseph T. Autry Jr., 31, of Brattleboro, attempted to merge into the far left travel lane and collided with the side of the vehicle she was driving.

Autry was found to be at fault in the crash.

Both vehicles were operable and driven from the scene.

Bellows Falls

-- On May 6, Bellows Falls Police Department received a report of fraud. Upon further investigation, Jessica Simoneau, 33, of Bellows Falls, was cited and released for the offense. She was issued a citation to appear in Windham Court Criminal Division on July 23 to answer for the charges.

Londonderry

-- On May 6, a resident reported that when he tried to light a gas grill at his residence on May 1, firecrackers went off in his face that had been stuffed inside his grill. The investigation revealed that the grill belonged to the landlord, and that the landlord and former tenant Matthew Parant, 38, of Londonderry, did not get along. Parant admitted to trying to blow up the grill by putting the firecrackers underneath the heat shield inside the grill.

Parant did not remove the firecrackers from the grill prior to he and his girlfriend moving out.

The next person to try and light the grill was the current tenant, who did not suffer any injuries as a result of Parant placing the firecrackers in the grill. A search warrant of Parant's vehicle revealed that he was in possession of fireworks of the same kind that were used in the grill.

On July 5, Parant was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, prohibitions or possession of fireworks and unlawful mischief, which is a felony due to the use of an explosive to damage another person's property. Parant was released on a citation to appear at the Windham District court on Aug. 6 to answer to the charges.

Rockingham

-- On July 5, Vermont State Police observed a silver Volvo traveling north on I-91 near exit 6 at a high rate of speed. While conducting a motor vehicle stop, the operator, Sloan Smith, 28, of Hartland, was found to be criminally suspended in Vermont. He was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date for the offense.

Westminster

-- On June 2, the Windham County Sheriff's Department responded to the report of a dog that had been shot with a pellet rifle. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Deputy Ian Tuttle at 802-365-4942.

-- On June 2, the Windham County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of line workers' equipment that had been stolen off of a work truck. The truck was parked in the area of Allen Brothers food stand on Route 5. The equipment is believed to have been stolen sometime between June 27 and July 1. -- On June 21, Bellows Falls Police Department stopped a vehicle on Route 5 for a motor vehicle infraction. Police made contact and arrested the operator, Eric D. Stockwell, of Bellows Falls, for operating after suspension and violation of conditions of release. Stockwell as cited to appear at a later date.

Wilmington

-- On July 5, Vermont State Police were informed of an assault that occurred at the Harriman Reservoir. According to a witness, William J. Kondracki, 57, of Whitingham, attacked the victim by shoving the victim onto the ground. While the victim was still on the ground, Kondracki struck the person in the temple with a closed fist three times. According to the victim, the incident began over an argument about sharing the same beach area. Medical treatment was not sought by the victim and no injuries resulted from the assault. Kondracki was later processed at the Vermont State Police Brattleboro Barracks and released with a citation for simple assault. He is scheduled to appear at the Windham County Superior Court to answer to the above charge on Aug. 13 at 8 a.m.
