-- On Aug. 12, Brattleboro Police began an investigation into an alleged domestic assault. Upon completion of this investigation, Lawrence Michaels, 53, of Revere, Mass., was arrested without incidence and lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department for lack of $1,000 bail. He was cited to appear in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on Aug. 13.
-- On Aug. 14, Maureen Fagans, 34, of Brattleboro, was arrested without incident at a residence on Thomas Street for having two active arrest warrants. Fagans failed to appear in court on Aug. 13 as previously ordered by the court. She was held without bail and was lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department, pending her arraignment in court.
-- On Aug. 16, Brattleboro Police responded to the Super 8 Motel parking lot on Putney Rd. for a reported 2-car minor motor vehicle collision. As a result of this investigation, Michael Walsh, 55, of Brattleboro, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was cited to appear in court at a later date to answer this charge.
-- On Aug. 16 at 2:37 p.m., Vermont State Police responded to a disabled vehicle reported alongside Rt. 25 in Grafton, Vermont. Tyler Marston, 26, of Chester, was driving with two juvenile passengers. He drove off the road for an unknown reason and became stuck.
Marston was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the Rockingham State Police Baracks for processing. He was issued a citation for DUI and released to a sober party.
-- On Aug. 13, State Police arrested Amanda Hall, 32, of Saxtons River, on a warrant issued by the Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division for failure to appear on a simple assault charge. Hall was transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield and held on $1,000 bail. She was due to be arraigned on Aug. 14 at Windham Superior Court.
-- On Aug. 13, at 11:15 a.m., Brittney Mahaffey, 23, of Hinsdale, N.H., was traveling south on I-89 in her 2006 Honda Element. She changed lanes and hydroplaned into the median, colliding with rock ledges. The vehicle was destroyed.
Mahaffey sustained minor shoulder injuries and was treated and later released.
Her passenger, Moses Guya, 26, of Bellows Falls, was uninjured and transported for precautionary measures.
The vehicle was removed from the scene, and an investigation is continuing.
