Bellows Falls

-- On Aug. 14, Bellows Falls Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Barker Street, just off of Westminster Street for a motor vehicle infraction. Police arrested the operator of the vehicle, Lynette Murphy of Bellows Falls, for DUI of drugs. She was processed and released on citation to appear at a later date.

Brattleboro

-- On Aug. 14, Brattleboro Police arrested Todd Koshinsky, 28, of Brattleboro and charged him with disorderly conduct. Koshinsky was cited to appear in the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division to answer to this charge.

-- On Aug. 15, Brattleboro Police took Joseph A. Lemieux III, 27, of Brattleboro, into custody at the Brattleboro Police Department without incident. Lemieux had an active warrant out for his arrest, stemming from an escape charge from the Department of Corrections. He was lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department, awaiting return to the Department of Corrections.

-- On Aug. 15, Vermont State Police observed a black motorcycle traveling northbound in excess of the posted 50 MPH speed limit. The trooper captured this motorcycle at 91 MPH. The operator was identified as Jonathon R. Thomson, 19, of Brattleboro. Thomson was subsequently issued a citation to report to the Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on Oct. 1 on the charge of excessive speed.

Marlboro

-- On Aug. 16, Vermont State Police working the 2013 Sober Summer initiative responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on South Road, near Lucier Road. Upon investigation and interviewing the operator of the vehicle, troopers determined that Nicholas J. Hammer, 26, of Halifax, had operated a motor vehicle while intoxicated. As a result of the Vermont State Police initiative, Hammer was arrested for DUI. He was brought to the Brattleboro barracks where he was cited and released.

Newfane

-- On Aug. 15, Vermont State Police responded to a residence on River Road for a reported burglary. The complainant, Fred Merriam, 64, of Newfane, reported that while he was away from his residence over the past two weeks, the residence was burglarized. The only item stolen was a cordless V-Tech telephone. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Trooper Hashim at 802-254-2382.
