BRATTLEBORO -- At approximately 2 p.m. on Sept. 3, police officers from the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a request to check the status of a man having "a mental health episode."

"Upon contacting this subject on Main Street at the intersection of Flat Street ... this subject became agitated, and became physically aggressive with police. The subject was subsequently controlled and placed into custody by police."

There is no other information about the incident nor has the identity of the subject been released as the investigation is ongoing, according to police.

Athens

-- On Sept. 1, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Brookline Road for the report of a single-vehicle accident. According to police, William P. Garrown, 50, of Athens, was driving a motorcycle south at an unknown rate of speed when his throttle stuck. He lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down in the road, according to police. He received injuries to his ribs and a shoulder.

Bellows Falls

-- On Sept. 2, Edward Burnham, 53, was cited for domestic assault after an incident at a Church Place. He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 10.

-- On Sept. 4, at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department responded to a report of a possible fight in the woods behind the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Rockingham Street. As a result, Christopher Lanese, of Bellows Falls, was cited for domestic assault and two counts of violation of conditions of release.

Brattleboro

-- On Aug. 27, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Joseph Martin, 47, of Brattleboro, for attempting to steal beer from a delivery truck that was parked on Elliot Street.

-- On Sept. 1, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Stephen Arsenault, 22, of Brattleboro, and cited him for unlawful trespass.

-- On Sept. 2, the Brattleboro Police Department took multiple complaints of stolen belongings from one location. Following an investigation, Zachary Cook, 30, of Brattleboro, was arrested for possessing stolen items.

-- On Sept. 3, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Sabrina Kingsley, 32, of Brattleboro, and cited her for attempted petit larceny that occurred on Aug. 28.

-- On Sept. 3, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Todd Koshinsky, 28, of Brattleboro, and cited him with three counts of criminal contempt.

-- On Sept. 4, the Vermont State Police located a vehicle in a ditch on Meadowbrook Road. Upon further investigation, Steven D. Howard, 36, of Brattleboro was arrested and cited for driving under the influence. He was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 1.

-- On Sept. 5, The Vermont State Police stopped a vehicle on Canal Street for a moving violation. As a result, Jesse Steven Holmes, 22, of East Hartland, was arrested for driving with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 1.

Brookline

-- On Sept. 5, the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on Grassy Brook Road. According to police, Beatrice M. Page, 72, of Athens, was traveling south when she drifted off the side of the road, overcorrected and then hit a rocky ledge on the left side of the highway. She then recrossed the road and drove into the brook. She was brought to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital by a family member.

Chester

-- On Aug. 31, at approximately 1:40 a.m., the Vermont State Police observed a parked vehicle on Route 103. While troopers were approaching the vehicle, the two occupants appeared to be getting dressed. Following an investigation, Kibber Brown, 40, of Spofford, N.H., was arrested for driving under the influence. He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 17.

Dummerston

-- On Sept. 4, the Vermont State Police responded to a home on Travis Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance. As a result of an investigation, Brianna M. Brooks, 20, of Dummerston, was arrested and cited for domestic assault, interference with access to emergency services and unlawful mischief.

Guilford

-- On Aug. 31, the Vermont State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 5 for a moving violation. As a result, Nicholas W. Lyon, 22, of Vernon, was arrested and cited for driving with a suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 29.

Jamaica

-- On Sept. 5, at approximately 11 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Goodaleville Road for the report of a single-vehicle accident. According to police, Alex Halpern, 25, of South Londonderry, left the roadway and collided with a tree after he glanced down to look at his phone. Though his vehicle was totaled, Halpern was not injured in the crash. He was issued a ticket for failing to remain on the roadway.

Londonderry

-- On Aug. 31, the Vermont State Police responded to Route 100 at the intersection of Williams Street for the report of a single-vehicle accident. According to police, Lucas H. Lemanski, 28, of High Point, N.C., was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a drainage ditch and hit a tree. He was not wearing a seatbelt and received lacerations to his face.

-- On Aug. 31, the Vermont State Police received a report that a number of items were stolen from a residence on Route 11. Anyone who might have information is urged to contact Trooper Bryson Lunderville at 802-875-2112.

Newfane

-- On Aug. 15, the Windham County Sheriff's Department responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 30. According to police, Penny Harrington, 54, of Brookline, fell asleep at the wheel while traveling north. Her vehicle then crossed the line and collided with a vehicle being driven by Melvin Bourn, of Fort Worth, Tex. All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time, which prevented serious injuries, according to police. Harrington was cited for negligent operation and ordered to appear in court on Oct. 1. The sheriff's department was assisted by the NewBrook Fire Department, Rescue Inc., Scott Brooks Towing and Brookline Auto.

Rockingham

-- On Aug. 31, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Parker Hill Road for the report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located at the junction of Route 103 and Route 5, after which a canine investigation revealed the driver to be in possession of a narcotic without a prescription. As a result, Christine Spaulding, 34, of Rockingham, was cited for possession of a regulated drug and ordered to appear in court on Oct. 8.

Westminster

-- The Windham County Sheriff's Department is investigating a report that a mailbox on Kurn Hattin Road in the vicinity of Pond Road was struck by a vehicle on Sept. 4. Anyone who might have information is urged to contact Deputy Ian Tuttle at 802-365-4942.

-- On Aug. 24, at approximately 1:45 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to the intersection of Westminster West Road and Sullivan Road for the report of a single-vehicle accident. According to police, Bradley Clough, 24, of Westminster, was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree. He received injuries to his chest and face.

Whitingham

-- On Aug. 30, the Vermont State Police arrested Michael G. Squires, 20, of Wilmington, and cited him with burglary, possession of stolen property and providing false information to police. According to police, Squires stole a number of items from a home that had caught fire on July 21. On July 26, Squires returned to the home and stole a set of deer antlers, according to police. He was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 26.
