BRATTLEBORO -- Vermont State Police are asking the public for help in locating a Townshend woman who went missing Friday morning.

Helen Holmes, 59, was reported missing Friday at 9:30 a.m. Her husband Steven M. St. Peter said she woke up around 8 a.m. and told him she was going to tend to animals on their farm located at their home on 560 Plumb Road. Around 10 a.m., St. Peter said he awoke to a note telling him she'd see him later.

"She said, ‘I love you,' but I haven't heard from her ever since," he said.

Vermont State Police are investigating but had no further comment on the matter.

St. Peter was the person who has last reported seeing Holmes before her disappearance. She was driving a 2010 maroon or reddish Subaru Forester with the Vermont plates DAK316 that expire in 2015, he said.

Holmes is 5'9 and weighs 170 pounds. She has blonde hair and green eyes. She is a registered nurse at Grace Cottage Hospital, where she is expected for work on Monday at 3 p.m.

"She is a person that is very loved in the Townshend and Newfane area," said St. Peter. "There isn't anyone who doesn't know her around there."

Anyone with information regarding Holmes' whereabouts is asked to contact Sergeant Zonay of the Vermont State Police at 802-254-2382.
