BELLOWS FALLS -- Community members are invited to attend today's launch celebration of a group formerly known as the Greater Falls Prevention Coalition.
Greater Falls Connections will launch its new name, website and welcome a new staff member during the launch, which is scheduled to last from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Parks Place Community Resource Center at 44 School St. A free, home-cooked lunch will be provided.
According to a press release, the focus on substance prevention will remain the same but Greater Falls Connections will place a special emphasis on strengthening the community, creating connections and harvesting the positive attributes of the Greater Falls area.
The group will also roll out a new social awareness campaign called "LYL." Geared toward young adults 21 and older, the campaign will encourage social drinkers to learn his or her limit and to remember that a fun night does not have to mean getting drunk.
