VERNON -- The Vernon Planning Commission will hold a forum on Monday, Sept. 30, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed VTel project on Pond Road. The forum will be held downstairs in the Town Office building, 567 Governor Hunt Road in Vernon.
VTel's proposal is to build a 90-foot tall Wireless Telecommunication Facility at 407 Pond Road. If installed, the proposed facility will enable residential and business customers to use VTel's LTE service to access the Internet from wireless devices and is projected to bring wireless Internet service to about 1,200 homes and businesses in Vernon and the surrounding area. It will also enable use of the Smart Grid technology for Green Mountain Power customers.
The public is encouraged to participate in the presentation. Elizabeth Kohler, an attorney from Downs, Rachlin, and Martin is representing VTel on this project. Kohler will be leading the presentation and will also be available to answer any questions about the proposal.
If you have any questions regarding the forum, contact the Vernon Planning Commission Clerk, Ben Gassett, via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
