Andover

-- On Nov. 29 at approximately 2:50 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Route 11 near Middletown Road for a report of a single-vehicle accident. Troopers determined Mary Owens, 40, of Londonderry, was traveling west when she drove off the north side of the road and collided with a telephone pole and tree before overturning. There were no injuries and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Due to power lines in the roadway, Route 11 was closed until approximately 6:30 a.m. Green Mountain Power responded to replace the telephone pole. State Police were assisted by Chester Ambulance and the Chester Volunteer Fire Department.

Brattleboro

-- On Nov. 23, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the Hannaford grocery store on Putney Road for the report of shoplifting. As a result, Scott L. Fontaine, 26, of Winchester, N.H., was cited for retail theft and ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Nov. 27, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the Robert H. Gibson River Garden on Main Street to investigate an assault. As a result, Donald J. Reetz, Jr., 45, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited for violating the conditions of his release. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Nov. 29, the Brattleboro Police Department cited Jonathan P. McAuliffe, 32, of Brattleboro, for violating the conditions of his release after he arrived late for a court-mandated check-in at the department. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
