WILMINGTON -- John and Patty Reagan, as well as their faithful customers, have waited a long time for the reopening of their beloved Dot's Restaurant.

"It's phenomenal," said John Reagan. "All the old customers we hadn't seen in awhile, they've all come in. It's been very humbling."

The grand opening at 3 East Main Street in Wilmington was held on Dec. 12. The restaurant will now be open seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Dot's had closed after Tropical Storm Irene left the restaurant and many other businesses on the same street flooded. Dot's had received additional damage due to its proximity to the Deerfield River.

The final phase of construction was completed last Tuesday.

"There's still some small things to do," said Reagan.

He told the Reformer that opening was such a relief and very exciting.

"We've missed seeing all of our customers. They've become good friends and they've become family. It's good to see everybody again," added Reagan. "A lot of the old staff is here. We'd like to thank everyone for the support that they've given us."
