-- On Dec. 15, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Route 9 regarding a stolen motor vehicle. Following an investigation, Scott K. Brow, 36, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited for operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

Marlboro

-- On Dec. 17, at approximately 11:55 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Hogback Mountain on Route 9 for the report of a two-vehicle accident. According to police, Jennifer M. Singer, 26, of Louisville, Kentucky, was traveling eastbound when she failed to negotiate the sharp curve in front of the Hogback Mountain Gift Shop. Singer collided with a delivery truck, operated by Keith R. Finn, 45, of Hardwick, that was parked at the gift shop. At the time, Route 9 was covered with ice and snow. As a precaution, Singer and her 10-month-old son were transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital by Deerfield Valley Rescue. They were later released with no injuries. All occupants involved were properly restrained in their vehicles. Singer was determined to be at fault in the crash for traveling at a speed too great for the existing road conditions.

Wardsboro

-- On Dec. 16, the Vermont State Police responded to a residence on Silver Lane for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that force was used to gain entry into the residence. To report any suspicious activity in the area the police ask that you contact 802-254-2382.
