-- On Dec. 18, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a Canal Street address for a report that a female had been assaulted. Following an investigation, Laroi Cromwell, 47, of Brattleboro. was arrested and cited for domestic assault. Police also learned that Cromwell had an active arrest warrant issued out of the state of Connecticut, as well as an active arrest warrant in Vermont. She was held in advance of a court hearing to determine his status.


-- On Dec. 18, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the Vermont State Police served a search warrant on a home on Whitney Hill Road. As a result, Jason T. Aprea, 28, of Brookline, was arrested for cultivation of marijuana. According to a press release, troopers found and seized more than 150 marijuana plants, a large amount of U.S. currency and several firearms. Aprea was cited to appear in court on Jan. 28.


-- On Dec. 19, the Vermont State Police responded to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for the report of an assault. A search warrant revealed evidence consistent with the statements made by the alleged victim. As a result, David Reffi, 22, of Dummerston, was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Barracks where he was processed. On Dec. 20 he was ordered held without bail.


-- On Dec. 19, the Vermont State Police received a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 5. At approximately 1:40 p.m., the vehicle was located in the vicinity of Old Stage Road. As a result Sherrill Wilson, 59, of Brattleboro, was arrested for driving under the influence and ordered to appear in court on Jan. 7.


-- On Dec. 18, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Route 121 for the report of a single-vehicle crash. At the time of the crash the roadway was covered with snow and slush. Christopher Bowler, 38, of Saxtons River, was traveling west when his 2010 Toyota FJ traveled off the right side of the road. His vehicle struck a road sign and then came to a stop in the snowbank. Bowler was issued a ticket for driving with defective equipment (bald tires).

-- On Dec. 19, at approximately 2:20 a.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 northbound in the vicinity of Exit 6, As a result, Timothy Strickland, 52, of Yonkers, N.Y., was arrested for misdemeanor possession of cocaine. He was ordered to appear in court on Jan. 21.
