BRATTLEBORO -- Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center believes that no child should be left inside on Windham Southeast Supervisory Union teacher in-service days. These are great days for exploring the different seasons in the woods and fields of BEEC in West Brattleboro, said Kristina Weeks, BEEC's environmental educator.

"Rather than kids being stuck inside playing computer games and watching TV, we provide an enriching experience in the out of doors, getting exercise, having fun, and connecting with the natural world around us," she said.

Nature Days will be offered on the following WSESU Teacher-in-Service days and selected holidays: Jan. 20 and 21, as well as March 4 and 24. Adventures may include: exploring winter survival strategies of plants and animals, building a snow fort strong enough for winter survival, uncovering stories tracking wildlife, and sledding down Heifer Hill. Nature Days are for children in grades one through five and go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost for a day is $35 for BEEC members and $45 for non-members.

Family memberships are $45 and include discounts on youth and public programs, a thrice yearly newsletter, and support BEEC's mission of creating an ecologically informed citizenry in our community. For more information and to register for Nature Days call 802-257-5785, or visit www.beec.org.
