Brattleboro

-- On Jan. 9, the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 for a speeding violation. As a result, the passenger, Deven D. Moffitt, 23, of Bennington, was arrested on a warrant issued by Vermont Probation and Parole for escape. He was processed and turned over to the custody of the Vermont Department of Corrections.

-- On Jan. 9, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Gregory S. Ahonen, 45, of Brattleboro, and cited him with first degree aggravated assault. He was held without bail pending arraignment.

-- On Dec. 21, the Brattleboro Police Department received a report of a possible theft. Following an investigation, Shawn Betit, 34, of Brattleboro, was issued a citation on Jan. 10 for petit larceny. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Jan. 10, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Interstate 91 for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Troopers determined Sandra J. Schofield, 70, of Hinsdale, N.H.,was driving south in the passing lane at approximately 50 mph when she applied the brakes. As a result of applying the brakes, the vehicle began to fishtail. Schofield attempted to regain control but was unable to do so. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over on the shoulder. There were no injuries. The Brattleboro Fire Department responded to the scene to assist. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Westminster

-- On Jan. 8, at approximately 2 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Pine Banks Road for the report of a theft. Troopers learned from the victim that someone had stolen a medication from his home. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockingham Barracks at 802-875-2112.
