Bellows Falls

-- On Jan. 18, at approximately 2:05 a.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department conducted a motor-vehicle stop on Route 121. As a result, Tawnia Martel, of Alstead, N.H., was arrested for driving under the influence. She was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Jan. 19, the Bellows Falls Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault at Westminster Terrace. As a result, Benjamin Jacobs, 28, of Bellows Falls, was cited for domestic assault and held for arraignment on Jan. 21.

-- On Jan. 21, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor-vehicle stop on Atkinson Street. As a result, Shawn Burke, 42, of Athens, was arrested and cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court on March 18.

Brattleboro

-- On Jan. 18, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the Price Chopper on Canal Street for the report of a disorderly woman. As a result, Melanie M. Demary, 37, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct. She was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Jan. 19, at approximately 2 a.m., the Brattleboro Police Department conducted a motor-vehicle stop on South Main Street for a traffic violation. As a result, Jay T. Mohler-Avery, 22, of Greenfield, Mass., was arrested for driving under the influence. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

20, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Elliot Street for the report of a noise complaint. As a result, Tanya Maskell, 40, of Brattleboro, was arrested for second degree aggravated domestic assault, interference with emergency services, four counts of violating the conditions of her release and unlawful mischief. She was ordered held pending arraignment.

-- On Jan. 22, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a member of the Brattleboro Police Department was involved in a motor-vehicle accident when the officer's cruiser struck an unoccupied parked vehicle on Canal Street. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash. The Vermont State Police is investigating the accident.

Dover

-- On Jan. 20, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor-vehicle stop on Route 100. As a result, Kevin Michael Demers, 22, of Avon, Conn., was arrested for driving under the influence and processed at the Dover Police Department. Demers was released on a citation to appear in court on Feb. 4. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

Halifax

-- On Jan. 19, at approximately 12:50 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Stowe Mountain Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Troopers determined Chad N. Gilbert, 38, of Plainfield, Mass., was traveling up Stowe Mountain Road from Vermont Route 112 when he failed to negotiate around a sharp curve to the left. As a result, Gilbert went off the roadway into a small stream. Gilbert's vehicle sustained minor damage to the front end. A tow truck was contacted to pull the vehicle back onto the roadway. The vehicle was driven from the scene. No injuries in this crash.

Wardsboro

-- On Jan. 19, at approximately 3 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Route 100 near Upper Podunk Road, for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Troopers determined Jacob Devine, 20, of Wardsboro, was traveling north at approximately 50 mph when he lost control due to the snow-covered roadway. As a result of the loss of control, Devine went off the west side of the roadway and struck a telephone pole. Devine's vehicle was totaled in the crash. Devine did not report the crash to police and left the scene. He was later interviewed and admitted that he had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash and left the scene to avoid contact with law enforcement. Devine was subsequently issued diversion paperwork for a person under age 21 having consumed alcoholic beverages.

Whitingham

-- On Jan. 20, at approximately 4:15 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to South Ryder Pond Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Troopers determined, Charles Wooters, 26, of Brattleboro, was traveling down a steep grade into a sharp right-hand turn when he failed to negotiate the curve, went off the roadway and struck a group of trees. Wooter's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. There were no reported injuries.
