-- On Jan. 16, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the overflow shelter on Main Street for the report of an intoxicated man. As a result, Leonard Viola, 47, of Brattleboro, was cited for violating the conditions of his release. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Jan. 21, at approximately 11 a.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91. According to a police report, Bernie E. Scarborough, 39, of Putney, was traveling south in the West River bridge construction zone. During the roadside investigation, Scarborough found to be operating while under criminal suspension. Scarborough was taken into custody and transported to the barracks for processing. He was cited to appear in court on March 11.


-- On Jan. 23, at approximately 8:40 p.m., the Vermont State Police received a report of a possible drunk driver heading north on Route 100. A member of the Vermont State Police and an officer from the Wilmington Police Department responded and located a vehicle off the road and in a snow bank on Parsons Road. As a result, Bruce F. Bensen, 70, of Stamford, was arrested for driving under the influence, second offense, and cited to appear in court on Feb. 18.
