-- On Feb. 18, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to the area of Exit 3 of Interstate 91 for the report of a two vehicle crash. Troopers determined Kristine Gabriel, 22, of Agawam, Mass., attempted to pass a tractor trailer being driven by Chester Hemingway, 45, no hometown given, which was traveling in the right lane of I-91. This action caused her vehicle to fishtail and sent it towards the guardrail. The sedan spun off the guardrail and struck the tractor trailer unit on its driver's side, causing minor damage. No injuries were sustained as a result of this crash.

-- On Feb. 18, at approximately 10 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 91. Troopers determined Benjamin Hollows, 28, of Fitchburg, Mass., was traveling north when he came upon a line of cars traveling at approximately 50 mph in the travel lane. Hollows decided that he needed to increase his speed to get up the slight uphill grade on the roadway and decided to pass the slower moving vehicles in the travel lane. As Hollows began to increase his speed and pass the vehicles, he lost control of his vehicle. As a result of the loss of control, Hollows left the passing lane, went across the travel lane and went off the roadway. While leaving the roadway, he stuck a mile marker post on the east side of the highway before ending up in the snow bank. The vehicle was towed back onto the roadway and removed from the scene by Hollows. He was issued a ticket for speeds too fast for the existing road conditions.
