Arlington

-- On June 1, at approximately 6 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to the Appalachian Trail for the report of a hiker in need of assistance. Members from the Vermont State Police Search and Rescue Team, Vermont Fish & Wildlife, Wardsboro Fire & Rescue, Wilmington Fire Department and Londonderry Technical Rescue responded and found Gary Nelson, 64, of Tennessee, at the Kid Gore Shelter with an injured knee. With assistance, he was able to walk to where the rescue team had left their ATVs. He was transported to an awaiting ambulance to be treated for his knee injury.

Bellows Falls

-- On May 30, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rockingham Street for defective equipment. As a result, Shawn Burke, 42, of Westminster, was arrested and cited with driving with a criminally suspended license, eighth offense. He was ordered to appear in court on July 8.

Brattleboro

-- On April 1, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Canal Street for the report of a larceny. Following an investigation, Philip H. Patoine, 27, of Brattleboro, was arrested for possession of stolen property and giving false information to a police officer. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On May 31, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault. As a result, Whitney Kennett, 24, of Brattleboro, was arrested for domestic assault and ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On June 1, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the Whetstone Walkway and cited Donald Reetz, 45, James Neveu, 56, and Kevin Regan, 59, all of Brattleboro, with trespassing. They were ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On June 1, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Sean Stoltz, 25, of Brattleboro, and cited him with criminal contempt. He waw ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On June 2, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Charles A. Wooters, 27, of Brattleboro, and cited him with domestic assault. He was ordered to appear in court on June 3.

-- On June 2, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Grant Baker, 37, of Brattleboro, and cited him with operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

Dummerston

-- The Vermont State Police are looking to gather information about a theft that occurred from a vehicle parked at 1326 US Route 5. The theft occurred between the hours of noon and 5 p.m. on June 2. The item taken from the truck was a Husqvarna Chainsaw. Guilford

-- On June 3, at approximately 2:50 p.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 for excessive speed. As a result, Heraldo O. Holm, 59, of Springfield Gardens, N.Y., was cited with excessive speed and careless and negligent operation for traveling at 100 mph in a 65 mph zone. He was ordered to appear in court on July 22.

Jamaica

-- On June 2, at approximately 5 p.m., the Vermont State Police and the Jamaica Fire Department responded to Route 30 for the report of a single vehicle crash. Troopers determined John J O'Brien, 37, of Henniker, N.H., was traveling south at approximately 50 mph when his vehicle's passenger side tires exited the paved roadway. O'Brien's vehicle then struck the guardrail on the south side of the road, damaging both the truck and the guardrail. No injuries were sustained in this crash and O'Brien's vehicle was towed by D.J.'s Towing of Guilford

Spofford, N.H.

-- On March 29, the Chesterfield Police Department arrested Daniel Erickson, 39, of Spofford. This arrest was made after a three-month investigation by the Hinsdale and Chesterfield Police Departments after learning Erickson might have been in possession of child pornography.

The Chesterfield Police Department and members of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, with representatives from the New Hampshire State Police and departments in Portsmouth, Derry, Salem, Greenland and Hinsdale, served a search warrant on Erickson's home on May 29 and subsequently arrested him for possession of child pornography. He was cited with three counts of possession of child pornography and arraigned on May 30. He was ordered held by the 8th Circuit Court District of Keene at the Cheshire County House of Corrections in-lieu of $25,000 cash bail. He will be back in court on June 4 for a probable cause hearing. This case remains under investigation by the Hinsdale and Chesterfield Police Departments and additionally charges are likely.

Whitingham

-- On May 8, the Vermont State Police were notified of an act of vandalism at Town Hill Park. Following an investigation, Alexander Kehoe, 17, of Whitingham, was cited with unlawful mischief. According to the State Police, Kehoe is suspected of knocking over a portable toilet at the park and of knocking over another portable toilet on May 17, in which the electrical box which supplies power to the park was damaged. Kehoe was ordered to appear in court on June 10.

-- On May 25, at just before midnight, the Vermont State Police responded to a residence on Merrifield Road to investigate a 911 open line. As a result, Tiffany A. Oxley, 25, of Whitingham was arrested on an outstanding warrant for escape. She was transported to jail by the Windham County Sheriffs Department.
