BELLOWS FALLS -- Village trustees on Tuesday set a village tax rate of .6419, which is down 2.95 cents from last year.
Municipal Manager Willis D. "Chip" Stearns II told the Reformer the dip can be attributed to a raise in the grand list. He said the Bellows Falls Village Board of Trustees voted unanimously to set the rate at their latest meeting.
He explained that the tax rate creates a tax bill of $641.90 on a property that is exactly $100,000 in accessed value. The Rockingham town tax rate is .8983.
Stearns said the homestead education tax rate is $1.56, or $1,560 per $100,000 of assessed value.
