-- On July 20, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a store on Main Street for the report of a theft. Following an investigation, Samantha Warrington, 23, of Glens Falls, N.Y., was arrested and cited with retail theft. She was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Aug. 11, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Putney Road for the report of a trespasser. As a result, James E. Cassidy, 68, of Brattleboro, was cited with unlawful trespass and ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Aug. 13, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Frank Cook Sr., 45, of Brattleboro for failure to comply with the state's sex offender registry. He was issued conditions of release and ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Aug. 13, the Brattleboro Police Department cited Donald J. Reetz, 45, Milo M. Fields, 60, and Melvin H. McCall, 35, all of Brattleboro, with unlawful trespass, after they were found at the Brattleboro Transportation Center. They were ordered to appear in court at a later date.

Vernon

-- The Windham County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of vandalism to a farm field on Newton Road. The damage was caused by a motor vehicle between Aug. 9 at 5 p.m. and the morning of Aug. 10. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Mark Anderson of the Vernon Division at 802-254-6962.

13, the Windham County Sheriff's Office announced it was investigating a report of illegal dumping at the Vernon Highway Department. During the afternoon of Aug. 11, a Ford truck regular cab truck was seen unloading two mattresses and a box spring at the Town Highway Department. Following the announcement, the responsible party returned to the highway department and removed the mattresses and box spring.

As a reminder, the Vernon Highway Department is not a transfer station. The bins located at the site are for recycling and compost purposes only.

Westminster

-- On Aug. 9, the Windham County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into the theft of auto parts from John's Car Corner on Route 5. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy First Class Christopher Norton at 802-365-4942.

-- The Windham County Sheriff's Office is investigating vandalism that occurred at St. Charles Cemetery during the overnight hours on Aug. 12 and Aug. 13. Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy First Class Christopher Norton at 802-365-4942.
