BRATTLEBORO -- Brattleboro Community Television filmed a debate featuring four candidates competing in the Democratic primary for the state Senate.

The Windham County Democratic Committee sponsored the forum held on Thursday; James Valente, partner at the Brattleboro law firm Costello, Valente & Gentry, P.C., moderated the debate.

Four candidates are contending for the two seats in the Democratic primary: incumbent Jeanette White, of Putney; Roger Allbee, of Townshend, Becca Balint, of Brattleboro and Joan Bowman, Putney.

Sen. Peter Galbraith, D-Windham, decided not to run this year, leaving one of two Senate seats open.

The Windham County Senate primary is hottest primary race in an election season that is remarkably quiet.
