Bellows Falls

-- On Aug. 24, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department cited Daniel Forbush with violating his court ordered conditions of release. He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 16.

-- On Aug. 24, at approximately 9:45 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department cited Lydia Benson, 59, of Bellows Falls, with violating the conditions of her release. She was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 16.

Brattleboro

-- On Aug. 22, the Brattleboro Police Department, the Vermont State Police and the Windham County Sheriff's Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Putney Road. Over a three-hour period, officers made contact with more than 400 motorists, one of whom, Bradley J. Siggins, 43, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with driving under the influence. Siggins was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Aug. 23, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Daniel L. Koolick, 19, of Brattleboro, on a warrant for failure to appear in court. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Aug. 25, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Birge Street for the report of threatening behavior. As a result, Corey Ostroski, 22, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited with disorderly conduct, giving false information to police and unlawful trespass. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Aug. 26, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested James P.

Rounds, 31, of Brattleboro, and cited him with operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.

Hinsdale, N.H.

-- On June 2, the Hinsdale Police Department responded to the Little League Field near the Hinsdale School for a disturbance. Following an investigation, police determined Joseph McTaggart, 32, of Hinsdale, and Roberto Melicio, 36, of Keene, engaged in threatening and tumultuous behavior during a youth sporting activity. As a result, the Hinsdale Police Department applied for and was granted arrest warrants for both McTaggart and Melicio for disorderly conduct. McTaggart was arrested on Aug 2. Both were ordered to appear in court at a later date.

-- On Aug. 23, at approximately 12:53 p.m., the Hinsdale Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 119 in the area of Lost Road, near the Winchester/Hinsdale town line. Upon arrival it was found that a vehicle driven by Devin McLeod, 18, of Hinsdale, had left the roadway and rolled over. McLeod was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and unlawful transportation of alcohol. He was transported to the Cheshire Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and ordered to appear in court at a later date. This case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Hinsdale Police Department. Hinsdale Police we assisted at the scene by the Hinsdale Fire Department, Winchester Police and Rescue Inc.

-- On Aug. 24, the Hinsdale Police Department arrested Dustin Minshell, 20, of Hinsdale. He was cited with second degree assault and other violence related charges. He was held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections in lieu of $5,000 cash and was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 25.

Jamaica

-- On Aug. 23, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 30. As a result, Killian E. Lynes, 18, of Poultney, was found to be in possession of a felony amount of heroin. Lynes was arrested, cited with trafficking and possession of heroin and ordered to appear in court on Sept. 16.

-- On Aug. 26, at approximately 8:45 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a single vehicle accident on West Jamaica Road. Troopers determined Amelia Nick, 16, of East Dover, was traveling northbound at approximately 35 to 40 mph when she was unable to navigate through a curve. As a result of the speed that she was traveling into the corner, she lost control and went off the roadway. Nick struck an embankment on the east side of the roadway and her vehicle overturned. Nick was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

Vernon

-- On Aug. 23, at just past midnight, the Windham County Sheriff's Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 142. As a result, Bryan R. Lewandowski, 25, of Shelburne Falls, Mass., was arrested and cited with driving under the influence. He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 2.

-- On Aug. 24, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Windham County Sheriff's Department stopped to investigate a parked vehicle on the side of Fort Bridgman Road. As a result, Verne T. Carey III, 24, of Newfane, was arrested for driving under the influence and ordered to appear in court on Oct. 14.

Westminster

-- The Vermont State Police is investigating a burglary that occurred at Kenneth Beebe Plumbing and Heating on Route 121 sometime between 7 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 25, in which brass fittings, a copper pipes, maple syrup and cash were taken. Anyone with information regarding the burglaries at this location are asked to please contact Trooper Berry at 802-875-2112.

Whitingham

-- On Aug. 23, at approximately 6 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a complaint of a domestic disturbance on Merrifield Road. Following an investigation, troopers determined Tiffany A. Oxley, 26, Joseph A. Beaton, 29, and Shaun Gibbens, 24, all of Wilmington, had arrived at the victim's residence early in the morning. The victim reported that a verbal argument had ensued and later witnessed Beaton damaging his vehicle. The victim and a witness informed police that Beaton had punctured the hood of the vehicle with a knife.

Oxley, in contacting the victim, had violated her conditions of release.

Oxley, Beaton and Gibbens had left the scene prior to state police arrival. While speaking with the victim, State Police were dispatched to a single-motor vehicle crash on Fuller Hill Road. Troopers and members of the Wilmington Police Department arrived at the crash and found Oxley and Beaton on scene. A blue Subaru Impreza, owned by Oxley, had veered over and beyond the southbound lane on Fuller Hill Road and had crashed into a boulder just off the roadway. Oxley was sent to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and was treated and released with minor injuries. Both occupants were uncooperative and refused to inform police who was operating the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Beaton was operating the Impreza.

Gibbens, who provided police with a false name, was later apprehended in Wilmington and arrested on a warrant for failure to appear and issued a citation for giving false information to a police officer. Oxley was issued a citation for violating her conditions of release. Beaton was issued a citation for negligent operation, unlawful mischief and providing false information to a police officer.

Beaton and Oxley are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 26. Gibbens was transferred to Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of bail and was scheduled to appear at Windham County Superior Court on Aug. 26.
