WILMINGTON — Town Meeting is Tuesday, March 1.
The deadline for filing petitions with the Wilmington Town Clerk for articles to be included in the Town Meeting warning is 5 p.m. on January 14. Petitions for articles must be signed by 5 percent of Wilmington registered voters, or 72 signatures.
Nominating petitions for town and school offices are now available at the Town Clerk's Office and at www.wilmingtonvermont.us and are due by 5 p.m., Jan. 25. Nominating petitions must be signed by 1 percent of the registered voters, or 14 signatures.
The deadline to register to vote in time for the March 1 Town Meeting is 5 p.m., Feb. 24.

Town offices to be filled this year are listed as follows: Town Moderator, one year; Town Clerk, three years; Town Treasurer, one year; Selectboard, two and three years; Lister, two one-year positions and one three-year position; First Constable, one year; Second Constable, one year; Grand Juror, one year; Town Agent, one year; Cemetery Commission, five years; Library Trustee, five years; Trustee of the CC Haynes Fund, one year; and School Moderator, one, two and three years.
2016 Transfer Station permits are now for sale in the Town Administration offices on the second floor and at the Transfer Station. 2016 Dog Licenses and renewals are now available at the Town Clerk's office. A dog must have had a rabies inoculation not more than 36 months prior to the date of licensing for older dogs. Not more than 12 months for puppies. A rabies certificate is required for licensing.
