• At approximately 1:36 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 121 near Barber Park Road in Rockingham. Investigation revealed that Eva Shepard, 29, of Saxtons River, fell asleep while she was operating her Subaru Impreza on Route 121 west and was also under the influence of opiates. Shepard was transported in an ambulance to the Springfield Hospital. Shepard was processed for driving under the influence of drugs and issued a citation to appear in court. Shepard's vehicle was totalled. Shepard was wearing a seat belt.
• At approximately 6:23 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 5 in Dummerston. Upon arrival, Tracy J. Leavy, 33, of Dummerston, was being checked by members of the West Dummerston Fire Department for minor injuries. Leavy was identified as the operator of a 2007 Honda Accord. Leavy advised she lost control of her vehicle after she attempted to avoid hitting a squirrel, causing her to crash into a wooden fence. Leavy was subsequently transported by Rescue Inc. to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for her injuries. The vehicle was towed by Brattleboro Towing. Leavy was wearing a seat belt.
• Kyle A. Goodnow, 19, of Vernon, was arrested by the Windham County Sheriff's Office for negligent operation and eluding a police officer following an incident that occurred on Marlboro Road in Brattleboro. Goodnow was held at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lodging. Goodnow was also cited with theft and violating the conditions of his release.
• The Vermont State Police are investigating a report of vandalism to a vehicle that occurred at just past midnight, on Lower Bartonsville Road in Rockingham. The vehicle involved is a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup which sustained damage to the rear passenger side taillight, passenger side window and side mirror. Troopers are following up on a possible lead in this case. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact Brian Turner at the Rockingham Barracks at 802-875-2112.
