ROCKINGHAM (AP) - A Vermont community radio station in Bellows Falls is off the air temporarily while finalizing an expansion that it hopes will increase its coverage by almost four times.

The broadcast outage for Great Falls Community Broadcasting Company, known as Black Sheep Radio, begins Tuesday to allow technical work and testing to its updated equipment while it waits for a new license from the Federal Communications Commission.

The station's Gary Smith says the outage is expected to last a few weeks. But listeners can still tune in on the Internet.

He said that they're hopeful the FCC will approve their application for a new license.

If the new license is approved, the station's potential audience would go from 35,000 to roughly 135,000.
