About 200 protest large-scale wind projects around state
MONTPELIER (AP) -- About 200 people gathered in Vermont’s state capital to protest large-scale wind development.
The crowd held signs on the Statehouse lawn on Friday with a symbolic "certificate of public harm" to present to the Vermont Public Service Board.
The board has approved wind projects in Sheffield, Lowell, Georgia and Deerfield.
Charles Johnson from East Montpelier said that he’s concerned about the environmental impacts of building roads and placing wind turbines in fragile mountain ecosystems.
Freeze watch for southern Vt., N.H.
MONTPELIER (AP) -- Cold temperatures are around the corner.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for southern Vermont and New Hampshire late Friday night through Saturday morning.
Widespread frost and below freezing temperatures in the 20s are expected, which means an end to the growing season.
The watch covers Bennington and Windham counties in Vermont and Grafton and Sullivan counties in New Hampshire.

MONTPELIER (AP) -- Vermont officials are reminding trappers state law requires them to complete a training course instructing them on rules, regulations and humane trapping methods.
The state’s trapping season starts Oct. 27. State owned land is open to trapping, but trappers must get permission from private landowners.
The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department oversees the harvest of 13 common species of furbearers ranging from weasels to coyotes.
Lost hunter found
DANVILLE (AP) -- Vermont State Police say a lost hunter who spent the night in the woods has been found by search crews in Danville.
Police say 33-year-old Trevor Barrett was found alive and well Friday morning.
Barrett had headed out from Danville at about 2 p.m. Thursday to McIndoe Fall in Barnet. He called his girlfriend around 7 p.m. to say he was lost and his cell phone battery was dying.
Search crews and volunteers looked for him through the evening and into morning. A member of the Caledonia County sheriff’s department team found him around 8:30 Friday morning.
