WEST CHESTERFIELD, N.H. -- What do the following have in common?

* A funeral reveals many kinds of love ...

* A young woman who steps out of a mirror confounds her lover by telling him how everything happens backward in her world...

* Two neighbors discover they don’t have to be able to leap over tall buildings in a single bound to be superheroes...

These are the comic, tragic, and uplifting life-changing upheavals that occur during the Actors Theatre Playhouse’s Ten Minute Play Festival, which opens on Sept. 20 for eight performances on Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

This season marks the seventh Ten Minute Play Festival at the Playhouse. "The Festival has been extremely popular with local audiences. and we do recommend you make reservations to be sure of a seat," said co-producer Burt Tepfer.

Fellow co-producer Mike Jerald adds, "It’s fun to see how much variety and how quickly things move along with this unique theatrical form."

Ten Minute Plays capture pivotal moments. They challenge the playwright, the director and the actors to make it all happen now, the way it does in real life. There is no time for long background exposition or the slow teasing out of emotional undercurrents.

This years Festival features six plays being directed by Burt Tepfer, Ben Stockman, Jonny Mack, Marilyn Tullgren, Mark Tullgren and Carl Ericson. Included in the casts are Abby Wicker, Carrie Blake, Jim Bombicino, Michelle Ross, Nancy Stephens, Pat Langille, Ran3dy Bright and Robert Alden. Aaron Olsen stage manages the production.
