This reading is funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Humanities Council. Visit www.archermayor.com.
Putney Vaudeville! is the creation of Rebecca Waxman, Bronwyn Sims, Patrick Donnelly and Peter Siegel, an ongoing showcase for old time entertainment and community talent which wowed audiences in its first performance last year. The night will include a professional act, a rousing live band, assorted friends and neighbors displaying skills you may never have seen, beer and wine service and good-natured audience engagement. On Saturday, Putney Vaudeville! will feature the magic of Andrew Pinard, as well as the versatile house band Gaslight Tinkers.
After several years on the road in the U.S. and Europe, Fishtank Ensemble has a worldly perspective as unique as its music. The road-hardy troubadours play a soulful and eclectic mix of Gypsy, Balkan, Turkish, Greek, hot jazz and original music. Featuring hot upright bass, devilishly fast violin, thumping guitar, versatile vocals, musical saw and percussion, Fishtank Ensemble plays 21st century dance music with one foot in the past and one foot in the present, all looking towards the future.
