2014 Student Art Show Coordinator is Susan Rosano, a visual artist specializing in mosaics at her studio in Guilford. She is an Arts in Education Master Teaching Artist on the rosters of the Vermont Arts Council and Arts for Learning Connecticut. She brings arts programs to schools, libraries, museums, hospitals and other art venues throughout New England to people of all ages. She is a registered Expressive Arts Therapist, Consultant and Educator with the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. Rosano shows and sells her art at galleries in New England and has been the curator of many art shows.
2014 Student Art Show Judges:
* Adrienne Ginter is a local artist working in various mediums from her studio at the Whetstone Studio of the Arts in Brattleboro. She received a master’s in fine arts in painting from Boston University in 2006 and has since exhibited her work in galleries throughout New England. She was recently interviewed by "Other People’s Pixels" and featured on their blog. She recently participated in a month long residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson. She has numerous upcoming summer gallery shows including a solo show at Outerlands Gallery in Vergennes.
* Cathy DeMeo is a Connecticut-based printmaker and mixed-media installation artist. Her work has been included in juried exhibitions and has won several "best in show" prizes. She serves on the board of Artspace, a New Haven-based nonprofit organization serving visual artists. She has served as a judge for numerous art competitions.
* Stephen Lloyd is an architect practicing in West Brattleboro. Before moving to Vermont, he lived in Connecticut for more than 30 years where he exhibited and served as president of the Essex Art Association and had solo and two-person shows of his paintings in Chester, Conn. He worked with Sol LeWitt on the design of a synagogue. In Vermont, his membership in Brattleboro-West Arts has been a source of inspiration and fellowship with local artists. He paints in acrylic and watercolor and showed recently downtown with 13 other members of BWA.
Overall comments by judges: "We were impressed by the caliber of the student work as a whole. A high degree of skill and innovation was apparent in all categories. Credit is also due to teachers and instructors who have encouraged students to think creatively and explore non-traditional approaches, and to master various media and techniques."
