BRATTLEBORO -- This year, people visiting the High School Student Art Show voted for their favorite art pieces. The Arts Council of Windham County Student Art Show Coordinator Susan Rosano placed "People’s Choice" ballots at the Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro for 2-D art, Vermont Artisans for 3-D art and In-Sight Photography for graphic design and photographic art. More than 150 people voted during the first three weeks of March. The results are:

* The People’s Choice Award for 2-D Art goes to Skylar Nupp of Leland & Gray High School for "Spots of Sunlight."

* The People’s Choice Award for 3-D Art goes to Serena Pellerin of Brattleboro Union High School for "Lost Lola."

* The People’s Choice Award for Photography/Graphic Design goes to Emma Truhan Swanson of Brattleboro Union High School for "Don’t Judge A Book by Its Cover."

The Arts Council of Windham County’s High School Student Art Show Award Ceremony will be held on Friday at 7 p.m., at the Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro, 17 Flat St. The public is invited.

Student artwork will remain on view at all three locations through March 31.

The Arts Council of Windham County will honor area art teachers with its inaugural Teacher Art Show, from April 4-30 at The Hub (ACWC’s new space) at 57 Harmony Place (the back of Artrageous). The opening reception is Friday, April 4, during Gallery Walk. from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
