PUTNEY -- Landmark College hosts an artists talk for the exhibit "No Country For Old Men," currently featured in its Fine Arts Gallery, on Tuesday, April 8, at 7 p.m.

The talk features artists Jessica Cuni, Kim Faler and Gina Siepel and is moderated by Exhibition Curator and Landmark College Art Professor Samuel Rowlett

The event will be a unique opportunity to hear from the artists about the process and inspiration for their work in the exhibition.

The multimedia exhibition, "No Country For Old Men" features the work of eight New England emerging artists, who offer diverse viewpoints on the subject of "landscape." Utilizing painting, drawing and sculpture as well as performance, video, craft and site-relative installation, each piece calls into question the idea of a landscape as simply a view of the outside world and presents the complexities of exploring one’s place within that world.

The title and content of "No Country For Old Men" gathers its inspiration from W. B. Yeats’ poem, "Sailing to Byzantium," while also acknowledging that the show is comprised entirely of work from women artists.

"No Country For Old Men" is on view through April 27, and features the work of the following artists: Rachelle Beaudoin, Kim Faler, Maggie Nowinski, Anne Roecklein, Jessica Cuni, Carly Glovinski, Destiny Palmer and Gina Siepel.

This exhibition is part of a bi-yearly series of faculty-curated exhibitions at Landmark College’s Fine Arts Gallery. The Fine Arts Gallery is an arts space that features a variety of projects in contemporary art and acts as a dynamic cultural and pedagogical resource for the students of Landmark College and the larger community.

The Fine Arts Gallery is located off the main entrance to the Fine Arts Building on the quad at Landmark College and is open Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m.

The gallery and all events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Humberto Ramirez, chairman of the art department at 802-387-6738 or humbertoramirez@landmark .edu.
