GUILFORD -- The Bob Stabach 4tet celebrates the release of a recording of Stabach originals, "Light Forms" with a house concert at Wendy’s on Tater Lane on Sunday at 7 p.m., preceded by a potluck at 6 p.m.
Admission is $15 or $20 for the concert and a CD. Call Wendy for directions/reservations at 802-254-6189.
The musicians for the concert will be the same as on the album: Eugene Uman, director of the Vermont Jazz Center and co-producer of the CD on piano; George Kaye, a 20-year veteran of the N.Y.C. jazz scene who’s played with a whole host of jazz luminaries, on bass; Jon Fisher, a first call drummer in the Pioneer valley and Boston music scene; and Bob Stabach on sax
The Bob Stabach 4tet has been playing together for nearly 10 years and the CD was a year and a half in the making. Pieces on the CD range in style from funk fusion to medium-paced swing to fast Latin with some moody, introspective songs included as well.
For those unable to attend the concert, Stabach’s CD will be available at the Vermont Jazz Center for $15, plus $3 shipping. Call and leave a message for Ginger at 802-254-9088, ext. 4.
