BRATTLEBORO - All welcome to the forum and reception with Nye Ffarrabas at CX Silver Gallery, Sunday afternoon Sept. 7, 1 to 4 p.m. The event will include Nye reading aloud form her poems and a group enactment of one or more of her art/action/performances, such as ‘The Water Stone and Paper Concert.’ The event and exhibition is free and of interest to older children, teens, and adults.

Nye’s work transcends neat categorization and even pushes the boundaries of conventional definitions of ‘art’ with her event scores (instructions for participants in group and solo improvisation settings), poetry, the visual arts, wall pieces, drawings, text-based art, installations, found-object artifacts and sculpture, and photographic documentation of her performances and happenings.

More information about Nye, the exhibition, the book, and the forums is at http://cxsilvergallery.com/nye-ffarrabas/

An archived video of a previous forum with Nye and the exhibition is at brattleborotv.org/nye-ffarrabas-50-year-retrospective.

The event marks the conclusion of this rendition of this historic retrospective at CX Silver Gallery. Nye’s work and the book produced will continue to be promoted by the Gallery and future exhibitions and venues for this work will be pursued. Future viewings of selected parts of the exhibition will be by appointment.
